Trezor® Hardware Wallet - Quick Start & Login Guide

I. Quick Start Setup

This section covers the initial physical setup and connection of your new Trezor device.

1. Unbox and Verify

2. Connect Your Trezor

3. Install Trezor Suite

The recommended way to manage your Trezor is using the **Trezor Suite** application.

  1. Download: Open your browser and navigate to the official Trezor website (usually trezor.io/suite).
  2. Install: Download and install the application for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

4. Create a New Wallet (Initial Setup)

Once the Trezor Suite is open and your device is connected, follow these steps:

  1. Click "Create New Wallet" or follow the on-screen prompts for a new device.
  2. The Suite will prompt you to install the latest firmware on your Trezor device. This is mandatory for security and functionality. Confirm the installation on the Trezor device screen.
  3. Choose a PIN (Personal Identification Number). You will enter the PIN using your computer's mouse to click on the keypad layout shown on the Trezor Suite, matching the randomized positions displayed on your Trezor's screen. The PIN is never shown on your computer screen.
  4. Crucially, the Trezor will now display your Recovery Seed (usually 12 or 24 words).
WARNING: Write down the words exactly as they appear, in the correct order, on the provided recovery card. Never take a photo of your seed, store it digitally, or share it with anyone. This seed is the only way to restore your wallet.
  5. Confirm your seed by entering a few selected words when prompted.
  6. Name Your Device: Give your Trezor a memorable name.
  7. Your wallet is now set up and ready to use.

II. Login and Access Guide

To use your wallet after the initial setup, you only need your device, your PIN, and the Trezor Suite.

1. Open Trezor Suite

2. Connect Your Trezor

3. Unlock Your Wallet

  1. The Trezor Suite will prompt you to **Enter PIN**.
  2. Look at the **randomized numbers** displayed on your **Trezor device's screen**.
  3. Click the corresponding buttons on the **Trezor Suite's numerical keypad** to enter your PIN.
  4. Once the PIN is entered correctly, your wallet accounts will load.

4. Understanding Passphrase (Advanced Security)

The Passphrase (sometimes called a "Hidden Wallet") is an optional feature that adds a significant layer of security.

III. Security Best Practices

Practice Description
Protect Your Seed Keep your written Recovery Seed in a secure, fire-proof, water-proof location. Never store it digitally.
Use a Strong PIN Choose a complex PIN, and never share it or write it near your device.
Verify Transactions Always verify the recipient address and amount on the Trezor screen before confirming any transaction.
Official Sources Only Only download firmware or software from official Trezor sources. Be wary of phishing attempts.
